This is a small pocket auto relief-carved in full coverage American Scroll. This is an ultra-fancy carry gun! I can do most engraving either as standard engraving or I can do relief carving in the same design.

On my last post, I showed you a Vaquero with full coverage engraving. Here’s one with 50% coverage. In the period of the American West, you’d rarely find a revolver with less than 50% coverage as it would have appeared unfinished. The most common coverages in the American West were 50% – 75% American Scroll.

This revolver features full American Scroll engraving which essentially means that everything is engraved except for the hammer, trigger, and front-sight.

The engraving even wraps entirely around the barrel!

This Colt Single Action Army is engraved in a Colt style of the 60s. It makes for a handsome and slightly different appearance than the more traditional styles of engraving often found on Colts. In any case, it’s a very stylish revolver!

This is a late model lever-action rifle engraved in American Scroll. This rifle features a grizzly bear on one side and a bull elk on the opposing side.

While this isn’t a full-coverage engraving, the gun does feature about 65% coverage. This is a rifle that’s to be used for hunting, not a Safe Queen! However, it’s fancy enough to give you some pretty great bragging rights at hunting camp!

This is a second generation Colt being engraved in a factory pattern. This is the beginnings of the project. I’ll be featuring more photos of this Colt as it progresses.

This is a trigger guard and a buttplate for a 17 HMR rifle. The design is almost Arabesque.

Here’s the finished product on the Native American themed Vaquero. It also features carved Ivorex grips.

This revolver is a work in progress with many Native American themes throughout. Tomahawks, headdresses, and more are featured. I’ll have more pictures soon!

This fully engraved Colt is based on original factory patterns . The gun was left as a “gray” gun per the customer’s request. This makes the gun look like a fancy, engraved gun that’s seen much use in the American West. This really dressed up a rather dreary but mechanically sound old Colt.
